There are a lot of cute and quaint things about downtown Mt. Dora that make it memorable. With a classical ambience with unique boutiques and rare finds- it’s something the city council works is proud of and works hard to cultivate.
With that desire to support small shops came a new building- the Marketplace at Mt. Dora, where small shops could open up storefronts and sell to the public in an authentic marketplace. Sure we can eat keto at Disney World– but there’s so much more available now in the greater Orlando area.
Thus Keto on 4th was born and my gluten free life has never been the same.

Crave Bakehouse in Eustis gets a Physical Location
What started as a simple dream has now morphed into a safe haven for those with dietary restrictions.
When Barbara and her Business Partner Alyssa first started this venture, they had no idea how impactful this bakery would be.
But that’s what happens when you give people, like those with diabetes and celiac, the chance to eat yummy baked goods again!
The secret is in how they make and sweeten their products. All baked goods are made in a dedicated gluten free bakery- then they are sweetened with high grade stevia and erythritol. And this is such a rare find- sure some people claim to be gluten free, but when you test it at the restaurant, you find out it has traces of gluten.
In just the two times that I attempted to interview Barbara about their new physical location and offerings, she was bombarded with happy customers who couldn’t believe their taste buds.
Literally. People were shocked.
I heard more ‘wow, that’s good’ and ‘this is so sweet and tastes authentic’ comments that I was surprised they hadn’t opened up a physical location sooner! People were eating the samples they put out as fast as they hit the tray, and more than once the little store front was crammed with customers ready to try a new treat.
And I’d be a liar if I said that I haven’t eaten a box full of their donuts. Seriously.
If you’ve been gluten free for awhile you know that gluten free donuts just dont have the same appeal. I’ve made them (big fail because they turned out super dense) had them from Erin Mckennas, which is good but I prefer the thin mint cookies, and had them frozen from the store.
While these are all viable options, there’s just something so special about going to a market place where you can meet the people behind the brand that really care about what you think and want to know YOU.
Even better? There’s other places in Mt Dora that offer gluten free options.
What does Keto on 4th offer?
The menu will be changing some- so I won’t say that anything is guaranteed. Barbara was explaining how they produce their items, and how they have many fun and exciting things lined up for the future.
Namely it was going to be a donut bar and monthly donut subscriptions- something that we are insanely stoked for.
So expect donuts. Lots and lots and lots of donuts.
Right now you can find many different varieties of donuts (almost all of them are diary free) and other baked goods like breads. They get a lot of orders- so check online to see what they are currently offering.
But wait- there’s more
As if their food wasn’t a good enough reason to visit, you’ve got some more reasons to support this local shop.
Mainly the fact that they are dedicated to sourcing ethical fair trade products AND they are actively looking to buy more local products to continue the cycle of ‘shopping small’
This women owned bakery is going places- and you should be going too- right over to the Marketplace at Mt. Dora to check out Keto on 4th and all the other fun shops from local makers and artisans.
Can’t make it to Mt. Dora? Check out their site– they ship fresh baked goods right to your door.
Basically
The Greater Orlando Area is listening- we NEED more gluten free options and things are getting better. Stop in and grab some donuts! You’ll find the best coffee down the street at Serendipity Cafe. While your in the area, check out these fun shops (I love Piglet’s Dog Pantry if you have pups and the Spice Shop and the… well you just go and find out for yourself 😉
